The Sugarcane property is located approximately 13kms from Home Hill CBD which is located in the Burdekin Shire known for premium quality farmland and abundant supply of water. The property consists of a total area of 215.23 ha (531.83 acres) and a production area of 197.32 ha (487.58 acres) which is currently completely under cane cultivation. The farm has been laser levelled to allow for long row lengths and excellent water delivery via ultra efficient flood irrigation distribution system. All planting required for 2018 has been completed with the balance of cane production running from mature plant to third ratoon. All crop preparation work is up to date with a 2018 crop estimate of approximately 18,790 tonnes which will be included in the sale. The regions fertile soil, mild winter conditions and an abundance of water means it is possible to grow just about anything which is why it is Australia's food bowl. Famous for its wealth of water, the Burdekin sits upon a huge underground aquifer. The huge aquifer is said to be one of the largest in Australia and sits just 10m below the surface, it is artificially replenished with water from the Burdekin River. Additionally the Burdekin River flows directly through the district and approximately 160 km upstream lies the Burdekin Falls Dam.
