In 2002, it was purchased by the current owners and fully restored over a ten year period in accordance with the requirements and oversight of the NSW Department of Planning, Heritage Branch. A single storey two bedroom home, which is the current owners residence, was designed to take a similar form to the cottage but in a contemporary style to clearly distinguish it from the cottage.

The Heritage cottage comprises a handcrafted and designed elmwood kitchen, built from elmwood sourced from the property. It also has 3 bedrooms, a dining area, lounge and bathroom. It is surrounded by a verandah 1.8 metres wide. The original stonework has been repointed inside and out and both fireplaces and chimneys have been restored and ceilings insulated.
